Here's an example how to start a request for profiling
of complex functionality. ProfCom aims to identify rules - complex
functionality - overrepresented in our gene set of interest (set A) and simultaneously underrepresented
in the reference set of genes (Set B).
All in all, you just have to enter a sets of protein or gene identifiers you want to analyze.
Step 1 - Enter genes of interest
In this form you have to insert the IDs of proteins from the first set of proteins.
Allmost all common identifiers like gene names, Affymetrix probe codes,
UniProt-, RefSeq- or GenBank accessions can be supplied.
You can either specify a file on your computer containing this set of IDs or enter the IDs manually (format: one ID per row or any blanks as delimiter).
Step 2 - Parameterize
Here you can enter any user specific short name or description of the job and adjust the profining algorithm.
Step 3 - Confirm & Submit
The last page gives you a summary of your data and the parameters choosen. Submit the job now with the "SUBMIT" button.
You can either wait directly for the computation results and if you have entered an email adress you will be informed additionally by email.
